CUSAT is set to host Make-A-Ton 9.0, an Odoo-powered hackathon organized by CITTIC, CUSAT, in collaboration with Odoo.
Unlike traditional hackathons where the problem statement is announced weeks in advance, Make-A-Ton challenges participants to think, design, code, test, and deliver within a strict time limit.
And the best part? Registration is completely free.
🔥 What is Make-A-Ton 9.0?
Make-A-Ton 9.0 is a competitive software hackathon featuring two stages.
💻 Online Round | 8 Hours
Teams will receive surprise problem statements at 9:00 AM on October 31, 2026.
Choose a problem, design your solution, and build a functional software product within just 8 hours.
🏢 Onsite Final | 24 Hours
Selected teams will advance to the final round at CUSAT, Kochi.
A new set of problem statements will be revealed at 10:00 AM on December 19, 2026, followed by 24 hours of development.
The 2026 problem statements will not be published beforehand, so preparation will focus on technical skills, problem solving, teamwork, and development workflow.
👨💻 Who Can Participate?
Make-A-Ton 9.0 is open to:
• Students
• Freshers
• Coding enthusiasts
• Participants aged 18 years or above
• Individuals
• Teams of up to 4 members
Cross-college teams are allowed, and participants can use any programming language or technology stack.
You also do not need an existing project to register.

Odoo expects teams to develop a working software solution.

📝 How to Register

✈️ No TA/DA or travel allowance is provided
Finalists must arrange their own travel and related expenses.
There is also an Odoo-specific registration condition. After registering for an Odoo hackathon, participants cannot apply to another Odoo hackathon for the next 3 months.
🧠 How to Prepare
Since the problem statement will not be available beforehand, preparation should focus on execution and adaptability.
Practice building small full-stack applications quickly. Get comfortable with Git, APIs, databases, authentication, validation, responsive UI, and deployment.
It is also useful for teams to decide responsibilities before the event, such as frontend, backend, database and API, testing, integration, and project coordination.
