Loose Threads – Spun into Narrative and Resistance – a different style of textile art

To create is, for me, to enter into conversation — with the material, the body, and the world around us.
My textile practice weaves between craft and concept, costume and space, action and reflection.
I work with fabric not merely to shape form, but to shape meaning — as a thread that binds memory to gesture, the personal to the political.
In the folds of cloth and the logic of seams, I search for stories. For resistance. For possibilities yet to be imagined.

Workshops

Reimagining Textile Ideas
I offer creative workshops focused on textile upcycling, with an open and playful approach to techniques like patchwork, shibori dyeing, weaving, or simple hand sewing. At the heart of it all is working intuitively with used materials and enjoying the process of making. Whether it’s small objects, free textile art, or functional pieces – anything goes, nothing is required.

Do you have a specific event or setting in mind? I'm happy to tailor the workshop to fit your needs.

Performance

Whether on stilts or on the ground, my performances engage with body, costume, and space.
Imaginative characters, poetic scenes, and striking appearances create special moments — approachable, transformable, and visually powerful. In addition to dynamic walkacts for festivals and city events, I also create site-specific interventions and artistic works within the context of art in public spaces — including films for LED screens that add visual highlights to architectural or public environments.

Are you planning a project, event, or looking for artistic collaboration? I look forward to hearing from you.

Art

My artistic practice moves at the intersection of craft, body, and society. I work with materials that carry stories — and tell new ones through them. Whether installation, costume, or collective process, it’s about visibility, connection, and subtle transformations.

Lucie Biloshytskyy

Lucie Biloshytskyy studied Fine Arts at the University of Art in Braunschweig, with a focus on installation and performative spaces. After completing her diploma, she trained as a dressmaker. She currently works at “Anziehbar und Nähstube” in Berlin, where she develops, guides, and facilitates textile projects with people. The focus there lies not only on sewing, but on shared learning, rediscovering skills, and making self-efficacy visible — with textile as a connecting medium.
She is particularly interested in sustainable design, collective processes, and the question of how textile practice can have a social impact — beyond conventional art contexts.
