Unlocking the Hidden Neurobiology of Early Stress
At the Laboratory of Evolutionary Neuroscience, we are dedicated to advancing our understanding of the brain through comparative research and collaboration. Based at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, our mission is to explore the evolutionary developmental neurobiology and ecology of early life stress and its implications for health, behavior and cognition. Join us in our journey of discovery and innovation!
Principal Investigator

Sally Bernardina Seraphin, PhD MSc
Assistant Professor of Neuroscience, Trinity College
Dr. Seraphin is a leading neuroscientist with over 10 years of research experience on the developmental neuroplasticity in humans, non-human primates, and neotropical frogs. Her expertise in experimental design and innovative research approaches to studying the impact of early trauma and adversity are on the cusp of revolutionizing the evolutionary neuroscience of stress.
LENS Researchers

Innovation thrives in the heart of purpose-driven research.
Trinity undergraduate students and Dr. Sally Seraphin work side by to design, trouble-shoot, and execute experiments that address stress-related problems.
