About

Sonia Lozano, LMHC
I help adults who feel capable on the outside but overwhelmed internally. Many of my clients are navigating ADHD, anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, stress, burnout, life transitions, or grief.
My approach is structured, practical, and collaborative. Together, we identify patterns, build practical skills, and develop strategies you can apply in everyday life to create meaningful, lasting change.
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I integrate evidence-based approaches, including CBT and DBT-informed strategies, to strengthen emotional regulation, improve daily functioning, and support lasting change. Services are available in English and Spanish through telehealth throughout Florida and in-person by appointment in Orlando.
Additional training includes certification as a Certified ADHD Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) and Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP).

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. I offer a free 15-minute consultation to briefly discuss what you're looking for, answer your questions, and determine whether we're a good fit. If we decide to move forward, I'll guide you through the next steps for scheduling.
2. What does therapy cost?
Individual therapy is $150 per 50-minute session. Payment is due at the time of service.
If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company. Reimbursement is determined by your individual insurance plan.
3. Do you accept insurance?
I accept several insurance plans, including Aetna, Cigna, Florida Blue, United Healthcare, and Oscar Health. Some Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefits may also be accepted. Insurance eligibility and benefits are verified before your first appointment.
If I am not in-network with your plan, you may choose to use out-of-network benefits, if available, or self-pay.
4. What does “out-of-network” mean?
Out-of-network means you pay for sessions directly. I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company if your plan includes out-of-network benefits. Any reimbursement is determined by your insurance plan.
Some clients choose this option for greater flexibility and access to specialized care.
5. How do I know if we’re a good fit?
I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation to briefly discuss your goals, answer your questions, and determine whether we're a good fit.
The first full session also gives us the opportunity to further assess fit and develop an initial treatment plan together.
6. What happens during the first session?
The first session is a comprehensive assessment designed to help us understand your concerns, history, strengths, and goals. Together, we will:
Clarify your current concerns
Review relevant background
Identify patterns affecting daily functioning
Begin developing treatment goals
By the end of the session, you'll have recommended next steps and an initial treatment plan tailored to your needs.
7. How is your approach different from traditional talk therapy?
In addition to supportive conversation, sessions are structured, practical, and skills-focused. Depending on your needs, I may incorporate evidence-based strategies informed by CBT and DBT, along with tools you can apply between sessions.
The goal is to help you build practical skills, create meaningful progress, and apply what you learn in everyday life.
8. Do you offer in-person and telehealth sessions?
Yes. In-person sessions are available in Orlando by appointment. Secure telehealth is available throughout Florida for adults.
9. How often will we meet?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build consistency and support meaningful progress. As therapy progresses, session frequency may be adjusted based on your needs, goals, and clinical recommendations.
10. What is your cancellation policy?
Appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to the full session fee. This policy protects time reserved exclusively for you and ensures availability for all clients.
