The Mhani Gingi Nursery project benefits the members of the network by giving women from various communities the opportunity to come to the Nursery to learn how to grow various types of vegetables and herbs. This knowledge can then be implemented in their own communities, providing sustainability for the families involved. Mhani Gingi has helped to set up several community gardens in the disadvantaged areas surrounding Cape Town. The produce that is grown in those gardens from the seedlings supplied by Mhani Gingi Nursery feeds the communities and can also be sold for income.

Though a very positive activity, gardening exposes the gardener to a number of possible bodily injuries, therefore, using personal protective equipment (PPE) is always recommended, including knee pads, gloves that would guard against exposure to pesticides, abrasions, and insect bites, and jeans that would protect one against the harmful effects of the sun’s rays, insect bites, and abrasions. It’s recommended that sunscreen be applied to skin exposed to the sun. A hat and goggles might also be recommended. Don’t forget to properly wash your hands after working in the dirt.

This shot makes me thirsty! I love how this shot turned out. I was about 10 meters above the ground with my Mavic Pro. This is a small winery in the mid-Willamette Valley outside Salem, Oregon. This is one of the biggest wine-producing areas in the country and it makes for some wonderful evening drone flights.
