A cooperative CSA program allowing community members to subscribe and receive fresh, seasonal produce directly from local farms.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

A cooperative seed bank where members can exchange heirloom and locally adapted seeds to promote biodiversity and resilience.

Seed Sharing Program

The Peninsula Food Growers Coop, started in November 2022, is dedicated to building community around growing local food. Our mission is to promote growing food locally by providing support, information and expertise. We believe that encouraging food security and sustainability is core to a rural community and to all people in these changing times.

Who We Are

Each month we produce an information-packed newsletter to inspire, educate and unite our members. It is a collection of informal writings, tips, news, growing information and more making for a fun read and a valuable reference.

Newsletter

Each month we gather at someone's farm or garden for a tour, demonstration or conversation, or during the winter, we meet indoors usually for a presentation on a food growing topic or two. Not only is this a chance to learn from each other, but it is key to building a food-growing community. We also have an ongoing seed exchange, equipment exchange and an annual communal seed order.

I think community gardens are a great idea, where people can socialise, which is good for mental health in these times of lock downs, as well as getting some exercise, sunshine and vitamin D, keeping their immune systems in good shape from exposure to soil micro organisms, and last but not least, growing some healthy food.
