Digital Publishing Bootcamp

One-on-one mentorship pairs young writers with established authors to guide their creative and professional development, providing manuscript reviews, notes, and/or preparation.

I followed Don Kao, a Chinese American LGBT activist, around for weeks on an assignment from New York Times photo editor James Estrin. I captured this moment of Don helping a woman fill out paperwork. It exemplifies how hands-on and willing to help Don is, especially among LGBTQ youth.

As a third-grade teacher, I found the workshops to be an excellent resource for teaching young writers to elaborate and cite evidence. Both are key components to being a successful writer for the state writing Assessment.

During the quarantine, Ms. Jonita created a thorough and rigorous curriculum.  My son was engaged and excited for each class to begin.  I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of my son's learning during that difficult and trying school year.  He met all of the state requirements and transitioned back to public school seamlessly.

My daughter needed help with her writing portfolio for an audition at her desired school. I knew that the competition would be fierce, and while I believe my daughter has real talent, I also knew that she needed help organizing her ideas. Needless to say, she was selected to participate in the writing program. We both know that Ms. Jonita’s guidance and collaboration helped her achieve that goal. Ms. Jonita’s teaching style is exceptional and refreshing. My daughter hopes to work with her again as she transitions to the next stage of her writing journey. 

My son was applying for a scholarship to his dream college that required a personal essay. The Mentor at All Write Now challenged him to think deeply and assisted him in making adjustments, which resulted in a full scholarship.

My children attended their writing workshops for years. They were always learning something interesting. Whether creative writing, book publishing, or beginner's storytelling, they always had a great time and were constantly engaged.
