Support A Pathway 2 Freedom: A Journey for Dadi's Redemption
At A Pathway 2 Freedom, we are dedicated to raising the necessary funds to support Dadi Kenyatta McNair in navigating the complex post-conviction legal processes. Our mission is to help Dadi pursue justice and seek the relief he deserves. This fundraiser ensures that Dadi has the resources to continue his journey and move forward with the hope of a fresh start.
Dadi’s Story: A Journey of Redemption
On March 17, 2006, Dadi Kenyatta McNair was arrested and charged with a crime that tragically ended another life. He was 28 years old. Just over two years later, he was convicted and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole (LWOP). In the days following his conviction, Dadi’s life felt lost.
Initially, Dadi was overwhelmed by guilt and hopelessness, reflecting on the devastation caused by his actions—not just for the victim’s family, but for his own. He describes his early years in prison as a time when he was “broken.” Yet, within this darkness, a spark of change began to emerge.
In 2018, Dadi’s life took a pivotal turn. He became one of only 25 men selected for the North Carolina Field Minister’s Program, which trains incarcerated individuals to serve as mentors, counselors, and educators. For Dadi, this was the moment he realized that he could still make a positive impact. “I owed it to the lives affected by my actions to change,” he says.
In 2022, after years of dedication, Dadi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry, specializing in Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. His transformation didn’t stop there. Dadi now works as a Field Minister, mentoring other incarcerated individuals and bringing hope to those who, like him, once believed they had none.
“Prison is full of young men living hopeless lives,” Dadi shares. “But I am living proof that there is hope. I am helping change the culture of prison—for the glory of God.”
Despite his remarkable transformation, Dadi is still serving a sentence of life without parole. Society often believes that those with such sentences are beyond redemption. Dadi’s story defies that belief. He has shown that even the most severe circumstances can be the backdrop for profound growth and change.
The Path to Justice
Now, Dadi is seeking to have his conviction revisited, with the hope that his extraordinary transformation will be recognized. In order to move forward with this legal process, we need to raise $25,000 to cover attorney fees.
This is where you come in. Your support will help fund Dadi’s legal defense, and any additional funds raised will be used to launch H.O.P.E.V.I.L.L.E., a non-profit initiative aimed at restoring hope, purpose, and stability in communities while preventing youth incarceration and homelessness.
Why Your Support Matters
Dadi’s story is not just about one man’s redemption; it’s about the power of second chances, transformation, and the collective responsibility to lift each other up. Through his journey, Dadi is now a beacon of hope for others who feel trapped in hopelessness. Your donation will not only help him seek justice but also contribute to a larger vision of healing and community restoration.
