Our Services
In depth Bible Study
We meet on Shabbat (Saturdays) at 12 noon at 105 Forest Park Dr. Easley SC 29642
Join us for interactive Bible studies that will deepen your understanding of scripture. We seek to discover the original intent of the Scriptures, using the original languages to uncover hidden gems. Our services are designed for more serious students of the Bible, but we encourage everyone to attend to learn more about YAH's word.
This Saturday, April 18, we will resume our study beginning in chapter 5. We are using Tom Bradford of Torah Class for our study, If you plan to attend our services, and want the outline and my commentary please contact me using the contact us option.
I provide teachings during the special services as outlined in our Special Services section, but I also provide outlines and commentary for each chapter that we study.
We allow for interaction during the teaching time so that if anything is unclear, or if someone, including myself wants to share their insight into a passage they can do so.
Due to a personal situation, I will be suspending my weekly services until sometime in May. TBA.

Special services
Our fellowship celebrates the seven annual feasts of YAH as outlined and detailed in Leviticus chapter 23. Beginning with the weekly Sabbath, we embrace the opportunity to meet with our Creator on His Moedim (appointed times) which include, Pesach (Passover), Yom Ha Bikkurim, (the Feast of First Fruits), Shavuot (Pentecost), Yom T'ruah (Feast of Trumpets), Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), and Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles). There is no charge for the High Holy Days services of Yom T'ruah and Yom Kippur, however, If we host a Passover Seder meal, we do collect an offering to cover the cost of the food.
Spirit Led Worship and corporate Prayer
Our fellowship takes advantage of pre-recorded worship music that allows participants to enter into spirit led worship, generally Messianic style music, but also contemporary Christian music, designed to help worshipers enter into the realm of the Spirit and connect with our Heavenly ABBA.
Corporate worship is vital to any fellowship. As a former worship leader as well as the Rabbi of the congregation, I was blessed and honored to be able to use the talent that I received from YAH, to bring people from the outer courts, into the inner court, and then directly into the Holy of Holies, where the Kavod (Glory) of YAH resides.
After worship, we have some Hebrew liturgy, and read the Scriptures, then we enter into a time of corporate prayer. It is essential for all believers to pray in unity for the needs of people and to lift up our leaders, but also to offer thanksgiving for what YAH has already done for us as His people.

Shared communal meals after worship (Oneg Shabbat)
We usually share a covered dish meal after our worship services, where we enjoy table fellowship. We ask that if you bring something to share, that it is in keeping with the basic Leviticus chapter 11 kosher dietary restrictions. This means that we do not eat any pork products or shellfish, beyond that, anything that is reasonably healthy (and sometimes not so healthy) is welcome, especially during several of the annual feasts with their associated food items.

About the ministry
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Messiah Yeshua...
Avodah Messiah Yeshua was established in September 2018 by Paul M. Cohen, who also founded Adon Olam Messianic Congregation, which was started in July 1995. My background is as follows. I was born into a two culture family, with a traditional Jewish father, David Cohen, and a gentile Christian mother, Mamie (Madden) Cohen. Due to my father's prior religious experience in Judaism, he was very secular by the time he met and married my mother. Once they decided to start a family, my mother offered to allow my father to raise the children in Judaism, but if he declined, she would raise us in her faith. My father had no interest in organized religion, so I was raised in the Baptist Christian tradition. Just prior to my father's untimely death in the spring of 1976, at age 44, my father came to accept Yeshua as his Messiah. That decision led me to explore my Jewish heritage, as we were completely removed from anything Jewish growing up. I embraced this heritage and was led to start a ministry years later.
Statement of Faith
We believe...
Both the Hebrew Scriptures and the renewed covenant to be the only inspired, inerrant, authoritative Word of YAH. Jer. 31:31; 2 Tim. 3:16
That there is one YAH, eternally existent, consisting of YAH the Father, Yeshua the Messiah, and the Ruach Ha Kodesh, Gen. 1:1-2; Prov. 30:4; Isaiah 48:16; Deut. 6:4; Matt. 3:16-17; 28:19
That Yeshua, who was eternally Deity, came to die in our place for our sins (as Messiah ben Yosef) and that He was resurrected, and will return as Messiah ben David, Isaiah 7:14; Matt. 1:1; 4:23; Rom. 5:8; Heb. 9:24-26; Rev. 20:1-6
In the return of Yeshua for His Bride according to John 14:2-3
In a 1,000 year earthly kingdom with Yeshua ruling from Jerusalem. Rev. 20:1-6
Every human was born separated from YAH by sin, and that reconciliation is only through accepting the atoning sacrifice by Yeshua. Isaiah 53:6,12; Rom. 3:23
That we are sealed by the Ruach Ha Kodesh until the day of redemption. 2 Cor. 1:22; 5:17
In the physical resurrection of both believers, and nonbelievers. Dan. 12:2; Rev. 20.
We observe the following...
As renewed Covenant believers we practice:
Water Immersion (mikvah) - Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:3-4
Communion (following the Passover meal) - Luke 22:7-20; 1 Cor. 11:23-26
Dedication of children - Numbers 6:23-27; 1 Sam. 1:26-28; Mark 10:15, 16
Matrimony - Genesis 2:24, Mark 10:6-9
Anointing with Oil - James 5:14
Laying on of Hands - Acts 6:6; 28:8; Heb. 6:1-2
Prayer requests, obtaining past Teachings and donations...
I provide past Torah teachings on a limited and individual basis at no cost.
This fellowship is a not for profit ministry, and the leader Paul Cohen depends on the faithful support of those who participate and benefit from this home based avodah (service). Please see the section below and use the ministry email below to submit any prayer requests. If you would like to obtain any of my past Torah teachings, based on the weekly division of the five books of Moses, they will be emailed to you at no cost. However, if you request an entire year's Torah cycle of teaching, that is rather time consuming and a donation would be much appreciated.

My thoughts:
I will regularly update this section.
Shalom, I am hopeful and thankful that President Trump, along with Israel, finally after 47 years, has begun taking military action to unseat the radical Islamic regime in Iran. It is troubling to me that some of our political leaders believe that this was done outside of the constitutional powers granted to the President. However, that is not the case.
Please pray for complete success in this long overdue mission to rid the world of the number one state sponsor of terrorism. We pray for the peace and safety of our troops as the Israeli military working together for our mutual benefit. We pray that this will end soon and that a new leader will be installed who will be favorable to both the USA and Israel much the way it was prior to 1979.
Of concern are radicalized Muslims or non-Muslim sympathizers or even lone wolf individuals who will seek to take revenge on US soil, which already happened over the weekend. There are numerous sleeper cells here in our land, so be ever vigilant and pray for success.
