Welcome to Capivara Collective!!! I created this website so that I can document my journey of growth in my career and as a person. I hope that you will join along and grow with me!I suppose I should address the Capivara in the room.... Meet Capi the Capivara! This cute creature has unexpectedly become the mascot? or maybe avatar is better suited? ... Manager! That's the word... Capi has become the official manager of my career in the tech space. If I am being honest, the evolution of Capi's story is both interesting and boring at the same time. I suppose that is to be expected from such an enigmatic species like the Capivara! Instead of spoiling the fun, I'll let you learn more about Capi's story as we all get better acquainted!

On the surface, it represents a path in life... because sometimes life does feel like we are walking up endless stairs with no concrete destination. The Escadaria Selaron are the iconic stairs in Rio de Janeiro that are adorned with over 2,000 unique tiles sourced from nearly every country. The artist, Jorge Selaron, created this gem to represent Brasil's diversity of people and nature. The staircase is ever changing as well, with new tile gifted and added to the artwork. I view this as a reminder to enjoy, embrace, and seek encounters with diversity in every facet of life... from the food you eat, the words you use, and the people you meet. It also reminds me to pay attention during our journey so we don't miss a small, but beautiful ornate tile tucked away in the corner's of life.

Capi will always be a reminder that life is meant to be enjoyed, a stranger is just a friend you have yet to learn their name, and fear will NOT hold you back!

This is my treasure trove of software, apps, and compiled lists from other people that are all open-source. I believe that technology should be open-source and available to all. Technology has the power to even the playing fields and should be democratized. I realize that it can be difficult to fully open-source every piece of software out there and make it available for free to everyone... but there can absolutely be, and often there is, a free personal use lower-tier version that is free.I leave you with this question:Would the mighty waterfall even exist if the river was close-sourced and behind a paywall? Now go forth and use my river to become a mighty waterfall!!! :D

<h3>Taking Back the Terminal</h3>Capivara Collective started as one... just me. But I didn't want it to stay that way... That is why I built the collective... So we can all find our path and carve out a piece of community together. We can strive to live authentically, in harmony with nature, and create some really cool stuff together! That is why I started down the path of learning to code. Before this I was a classically trained musician... well, I still am, but life threw more curve balls my way and I decided to take a detour. I firmly believe this was the right choice because now I am working to blend my past and present together in a way that doesn't harm the musicianship that I loved and sacrificed over for decades. With the unregulated explosion of AI, I have seen the worst forms of "music software" being pushed.... Ai slop apps for music. I do believe there is a place and way that generative AI can "make" and assist in music production. However, at this moment I am staunchly against what has flooded the market. I want to contribute to both technology AND music in ways that one doesn't overpower the other and they can work in harmony. Life is a balancing act predicated on respect and thoughtful consideration.I truly hope that you have resonated with any part of this page and that you are motivated to learn more about coding, tech, cybersecurity, etc.... Because I firmly believe that technology is something we all must take a more pro-active role in... the days of passively using technology and allowing the few at the top to run the show need to come to an end. You don't have to become some master code-smith, but I urge you to dig a little deeper and learn the basics. This will help us all democratize our tech AND our FUTURE!!! (The technocrats want you to rely on them so they can sell 'Intelligence' to you monthly like an electricity or water bill!!!)TAKE BACK THE TERMINAL, TAKE BACK YOUR POWER!!

Stop Google from Restricting Freedom!!!

At Capivara Collective, transparency is more than just a buzzword; it's the foundation of how we operate. To be transparent is to be boldly honest about how any code I push can or will effect the consumer... but I am still too small of a fish to do any major damage if this were not my ethos. Unfortunately, the giants don't play so nice. Today I would like to illuminate a scheduled "patch" that google is going to implement that will change the way many people use their android devices. The backbone of Android's business model has been that it is open-source and allows the user that payed for their phone to use it pretty much how they want within legal parameters. What this means is that android users can download apps that aren't hosted on google play or phone brand stores like Samsung app store. This was to give developers the freedom to experiment with their apps, but also the average user can 'side load' the app their friend made... or download a 'third-party' app store like, most notably, F-Droid. F-Droid is a full fledged app store with nearly ALL open-source apps. you can find some of the strongest data privacy tools here, customized apps that minimize ads, forks of major social media apps but without the telemetry so you can watch YouTube but not hand over your data, completely independent de-centralized open-source social media platforms that are growing called the Fediverse, and even apps that help you check if your connecting to your normal cell towers or if there is "by chance" a new one that is blocking out the normal ones in your area (That is what cell tower spoofers do... they're better known as Stingrays and are a spy tool that bad guys can order off the dark web or ICE/ the local police use to scrape ALL cell activity within the area.) So the announcement that Google will be forcing all apps created for android required to register with google, submit an ID and face scan, pay into their program, and get a final mark the app was approved before it will function on the phone is a HUGE slap in our faces. They already are making YouTube impossible to use without verifying your age by a face scan... why do they want out faces so badly when over the last 20 years they have aggregated nearly all of the data that defines and describes us???
