part2. Anger grew among the exploited workers and unemployed who now relied on the new Labour party to help them. However it was soon discovered that Labour had less power than they thought as any change in policy that helped the workers required a consenses in the house of commons. Although many gains were made like kids prevented from work, an 8 hour week, holidays, etc., but more needed done. This was during the time approaching ww2. Everything changed, women that were told they cant be mechanics or engineers,etc., were trained up for these jobs to replace the men called up to fight. Men in essential services stayed behind working alongside women. It proved women were just as capable as men in typically male jobs. The soldiers fighting in hard conditions thought of home. end part2
