Hello! My name is Varvara Kosareva.I am an artist who completed higher education in the field of art and folk culture at the Moscow City Pedagogical University (Institute of Arts). I have dedicated my creativity to porcelain dolls, ceramic jewelry, and visual art.The uniqueness of my work lies in the fact that I create each piece with a deep subtext of mythology, folklore, and history. I adore ethnography and folk art and am always searching for amazing motifs and stories in the spiritual history of the world's ethnic groups. This love has even inspired me to write books on folklore based on my personal research. Images inspired by legends and mythologies from around the world...

The most important aspect in the concept of dolls for me is the idea they convey. Every artist infuses a piece of their soul and knowledge into the images they present to their audience. I have chosen to follow a path of the brightest motifs, those that convey kindness and positivity.My dolls have already been highly acclaimed at exhibitions, earning awards and publications.<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://solafea.tilda.ws/ahads">My big dream is to open a school of porcelain dolls</a> and create beautiful dolls with my students based on themes of folklore, history, and ethnography!

Motifs that reflect the soul of a people...

Through my visual art, I strive to demonstrate not only my love for folklore but also its very essence. Before I begin creating any image, I read extensively and study the culture of the people that inspired me. I carefully endeavor to convey the details and atmosphere of the canonical image of a deity, spirit, or fairy-tale character.

Stories that cannot be left untold...

While studying the myths, legends, and ethnography of the world's peoples back in university, I was so fascinated that I ultimately decided to share my knowledge. This inspired me to participate in numerous mythology projects. In addition to books written entirely by me, I have worked as a co-author, led a team of writers, and served as chief editor.Among other things, I gave lectures on mythology and conducted master classes on folk art. ✨

<h3>From jewelry-making skills to the art of makeup artistry.&nbsp;</h3>The craft of dollmaking requires an impressive range of skills. When creating dolls, I have to be a multiprofessional. To describe all the intricacies of the work would require an entire book! I will simply list the skills I apply in my work:· Creating drawings and schematics (for new sculptural models)· Hand sculpting hollow parts (working with Ladoll and Cernit clays, as well as plasticine)· Molding the finished model with plaster (creating plaster molds)· Casting ceramic slip or porcelain into plaster molds· Processing greenware doll parts· Three-stage firing of parts in a muffle kiln· Painting with overglaze colors (a complex process of mixing pigments and firing the painted pieces)· Stringing the finished doll on springs or special elastic bands· Creating wigs and applying eyelashes· Sewing clothing and crafting accessories (jewelry work)<h4>I do all of this by hand. Only the costume sewing I may partially outsource, following my own original patterns.&nbsp;</h4>Making dolls is a very long and labor-intensive process. Unfortunately, everyday life and modern realities make it very difficult for me to create new dolls. That's why there are so few of them.

The Nature of the Work ✨

<h3>I love to paint complex themes</h3>In my work, I adhere to the canon of the culture to which I'm dedicating it. This requires academic skills in studying history, ethnography, and folklore. I draw on all of this information from libraries around the world and exclusively from scholarly sources.<h3>I'm multi-functional</h3>In my work, I use a variety of software (Photoshop, Clip Studio, Medibang, etc.) and can reproduce folk art styles from any culture. I also have access to traditional painting and drawing skills. I especially enjoy watercolors and wood painting.<h3>I follow my heart</h3>Through my work, I want to unite people. I want conflicts to end and for everyone to live in harmony, but with respect for their past, their culture, and their land. This is what I want to convey through all my work. Our past is beautiful! Our peoples have preserved such beautiful traditions. Let's preserve them together!

My arts about history about soul of folks

<h3>ARTMIF</h3>In 2022, I began participating in the ARTMIF project. There, I wrote my first book on the folklore of Slavic peoples. I continued collaborating with the young ARTMIF Publishing House, as I saw prospects. In 2023, I fully took on the responsibility of directing text preparation and searched for competent specialists in the field of folklore. I write a technical assignments for artists for each book in the ARTMIF series, and we released two books on Scandinavian mythology, where I also worked as a co-author. Following that were Egyptian, Chinese, Indian mythology, and a Knightly Romance, where I performed all the same duties. Concurrently, my book about Zodiac signs was published, as well as a rune set with my instructions in the brochure, and at the end of the collaboration with ARTMIF, my book about Russian Ded Moroz was released.I managed to participate in lectures as a speaker and folklore specialist, and conduct master classes on the art of composing Galdrastafir (Icelandic runic composition).I also worked as a journalist and wrote a column on mythology, folklore, and folk culture for the ARTMIF project's website and social media.<h3>My journalistic experience</h3>I wrote periodic articles on folk culture, ethnography and history for the ARTMIF project.<h3>Alexey Nebykov</h3>In late 2025, I also collaborated with the "Vremya Prozy" project (editorial series by A. Nebykov), where my artistic essay on zodiac signs and philosophical questions of astrology was published in the collection "Zodiac."<h3></h3>

Porcelain doll, Nephrite (elite сhinese porcelain)

This is the third porcelain doll, Goddess of the Earth. Her prototype is Žemyna, the Lithuanian goddess of the Earth, but I emphasized her image with Indo-European painting and infused her with all the images of the goddesses of Indo-European peoples... She is 28 cm tall, and her body has 27 joints. Her detalis are stretched with elastic bands.The doll is in process.

Porcelain Parian (Valentine's Clay)

I used Japanese Ladoll clay to sculpt my main master model. It was created entirely by hand. Then I removed the plaster molds and am now casting porcelain. However, this is also a difficult and creative process.

My first book, that I write in a 2022 year. I write all text for this book. As an author, I used my skills in folklore and ethnography, which I received at Moscow State Pedagogical University in the Department of Folk Art.

Slavic mythology

It's a set with two books (creatures and gods) and a collaboration with Alexey Frolov, a religious scholar and candidate of sciences in Scandinavian folklore. I wrote the introduction about the God's world and articles about Gods.

Scandinavian Mythology set

It was an amazing experience working with a wonderful expert, Artem Tyurin, redigian scholar, founder of the religious movement Kemetism. Here I demonstrated my best qualities as a leader and curator.

Egyptian mythology 

I have amazing experience in this project! It was be collaboration with Yulia Gracheva, candidate of Historical Sciences, Research Fellow in Oriental Studies at the Russian Academy of Sciences "Center for the Study of Contemporary China". I wrote a articles about gods.

Chinese Mythology set

I wrote a concept for a book based on a chivalric romance. It's was be collaboration with great expert Daniel Zubov, пraduate of the Faculty of History of the P. G. Demidov Yaroslavl State University, employee of the scientific research institute "Russia and Europe: Comparative Study of Pre-Industrial Societies". I write a article about magical characters and about magic in romance.

I wrote this book to order, from concept development to texts.

Zodiac

Collaboration with amazing Anastasia Abdrashitova, religious scholar, researcher of ancient philosophy. I wrote a artbook with creatures and Anastasia write text about Gods and all introductions.
