Recreation Therapist | Creator of Engaged in Rec | and Strong Man in the Pic ^
Hi, I’m Karina Stickle, a Recreation Therapist, program strategist, and the creator of Engaged in Rec. With 17+ years in LTC, MC, AL, IL, and Day Programs, I help Activity Professionals create meaningful engagement through tools, ideas, and real-life support.
I’m the Community Engagement & Program Development Manager at Go Icon, a contributing writer for NAAP, and serve on the Therapeutic Recreation Advisory Board at SLC.
My work includes the 2025 Activity Professional Planner, a popular Etsy shop, podcast, and consulting with communities across North America and Australia.
I’m also exploring the connection between creativity, energy, and intuition in senior programming, and I’m dreaming up a space for spiritually curious Activity Professionals to grow and connect.
