Founded in 1968 by civil rights leader James “Jim” Haughton, Equal Employment Council, Inc. (EEC) champions economic justice and equal access to union jobs. Today, under Vivia Morgan’s leadership, EEC continues to advocate, educate, and create workforce opportunities for minorities.
Friends of Wingate Park (FOWP) now operates under the Equal Employment Council, expanding our shared mission to promote opportunity, and community from food distribution and youth engagement to development and job access.

Connecting qualified candidates with union job opportunities to promote fair employment and economic justice.
Labor Equity Advocacy
We partner with unions, contractors, and policymakers to expand opportunities and promote fair employment practices.
Community Empowerment
We provide workshops on labor rights, workplace equality, and career advancement strategies to empower our community. Educating the public about their rights, building leadership, and strengthening solidarity across communities.
Community Outreach
Friends of Wingate Park, under Equal Employment Council, is leading a relief effort to send urgently needed supplies — food, water, clothing, and building materials — to families in Jamaica after the hurricane.
