Milt Campbell - First African American to win Olympic Gold in the Decathlon
Gold Medal Productions is proud to announce the exclusive production of the Milt Campbell story (film title will be public in 2027). This based on a true life story film was written by screenplay writer and producer Kieron Sweeney.
In 1956, Milt Campbell becomes the first African-American to win Olympic decathlon gold and is crowned “The World’s Greatest Athlete” — only to be erased by the country he made history for. Half a century later, a young entrepreneur draws the aging champion’s full story out of him and discovers that Milt’s true greatness was never the medal, but everything he built after the cheering stopped.
A notable industry producer has already remarked "it has award potential". Production is currently underway and we will be issuing press releases and launching a social media campaign in 2027. The story is written through the lens of Kieron Sweeney based on a 21 year friendship and their work together as motivational speakers.
