Step 1: Download gOS Files - Download the latest gOS version files from our website. - The package will contain source files and a build script (Makefile). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Step 2: Build the Bootable Image (You need a Windows 11 PC with admin rights and Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) installed.) 1. Open the Run dialog by pressing Win + R. 2. Type `wsl` and press Enter to open the Linux terminal. 3. Navigate to the folder where you saved the gOS files: &gt;&gt;&gt; cd /mnt/c/Users/YourUsername/PathTo/gOS_Folder (Replace YourUsername and PathTo with your actual path.) 4. Install necessary build tools (if not already installed): &gt;&gt;&gt; sudo apt update &amp;&amp; sudo apt install nasm gcc binutils make -y 5. Build gOS by running: &gt;&gt;&gt; make 6. This will generate a bootable image file named `os.bin`. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Step 3: Prepare Your USB Drive - Insert a USB drive with at least 4GB capacity. - Back up any important data on the USB, as this process will erase it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Step 4: Write the Bootable Image to USB **On Windows:** - Download and open Rufus: <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://rufus.ie">https://rufus.ie</a> - Select your USB device. - Click “SELECT” and choose the `os.bin` file. - Set Partition scheme to MBR. - Set File system to FAT32. - Click “START” and confirm warnings. - Wait for the process to complete. **On Linux/macOS (in WSL or native terminal):** 1. Identify your USB device: &gt;&gt;&gt; lsblk 2. Unmount the USB drive if mounted: &gt;&gt;&gt; sudo umount /dev/sdX* 3. Write the image: &gt;&gt;&gt; sudo dd if=os.bin of=/dev/sdX bs=4M status=progress (Replace `/dev/sdX` with your USB device, e.g., `/dev/sdb`.) 4. Wait until the command finishes. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Step 5: Boot from USB 1. Leave the USB drive plugged in. 2. Restart your computer. 3. Enter the Boot Menu by pressing a key during startup (commonly F12, F11, F10, Esc, or Del). 4. Select your USB drive as the boot device. 5. Press Enter to boot gOS. 6.
