I am never too busy to help out a fellow rabbit enthusiast. This is an open rabbitry and potential buyers are welcome to hang out for experience in general care, tattoing, veterinary care, breeding, butchering or just a look around.
What's Going On!
October 2026
It is definitely an excellent start to my first serious dive into the American Chinchilla breeding side of my Rabbitry. The Jedi and Moxie came through with an incredibly loud, chubby little pile of kits in the last week of September and they are all doing great. My search for a second buck came to fruition on the 1rst Sunday of the month. I'm not at liberty to divulge my source, but I'll tell you- sometimes those listings on Craigslist that seem too good to be true- are just plain too good to be believed.
I got to enjoy my Sunday night off doing 700 miles of driving to pick up a dreamy buck named "Little John" who is estimated to have fathered several hundred kits in his first 4 years as a stud. He is so gorgeous, what a head! Pictures soon. For my interest I was asked to consider a doe from the same source. It was not hard to sell me on that, and "Sophie" turned out to be another unbelievably beautiful rabbit. To look at her head is to see perfection in a female rabbit.
Yes, it does get better than that- the breeders bred Sophie to one of their current studs so I can expect kits from her in 4 weeks or so. Unbelievable! They were incredible people and it was a super night for a long drive. I had to speak to O.B. One and admit to her that she has competition for "Most Beautiful Silver Doe" in my rabbitry right now. She looks disgruntled. She'll forgive me when she meets Little John.
It's going to be a Winter of raising amazing silver bunnies. I'm overjoyed!
