Welcome!
I am Iuliia Burdun, a geographer specialising in satellite monitoring of northern peatlands. I am an FWO Junior Postdoctoral Fellow at the RSDA Lab at KU Leuven, where I serve as principal investigator on the PEATWATER project, developing satellite methods to track peatland water tables. Previously, I worked at Aalto University, Finland, on the PEATSPEC project on peatland vegetation and moisture, and earned my PhD at the University of Tartu, Estonia, on remote sensing of groundwater tables in peatlands. I also worked at the Landscape Geoinformatics Lab at the University of Tartu.
