Capturing the fast-paced action of ice hockey in the UK is both a challenge and a thrill. From the sharp clatter of skates on ice to the intense battles in the corners, every moment tells a story. My pictures focus on freezing the speed, emotion, and energy of the game.  Shooting in varied lighting conditions and keeping up with the rapid movement pushes my skills to the limit, but that's what makes it exciting.

Through the camera lens, I aim to showcase the passion and grit of British ice hockey, and why fans love the game.  You will see few images of goals and celebrations.  I attend matches first and foremost as a fan to watch the play on and off the puck, taking in the full atmosphere and experience.  There’s little point in paying for a seat at a live event and then following the game on the screen of a viewfinder.  Having said that, there is a very special thrill when the moment a puck smacks the goal netting is fixed in time.

Kings of the Oval Raceways

Already up and running under its own domain is a motorsport gallery.  A childhood fascination in BriSCA Formula 1 Stock Cars that continues 60plus years later sparked the interest in photography.  The site stockcarGOLD covers oval racing from the 1960s to the present day.  Other forms of motor racing link in with the short ovals.

Sport of Kings

Next up is swapping horsepower for horse power.  More recently with retirement round the corner thoughts of how to avoid couch potato syndrome.  Racehorse ownership through syndicate shareholding prompted a means of motivation.  The next project here will be small section for racing on the turf.
