This Green Sea Turtle navigates shallow, sunlit waters over sand, a common sight along Sri Lanka's coastline. As the largest hard-shelled sea turtle species, adults typically reach 3-4 feet long and weigh 300-350 pounds, yet possess a comparatively small head. Their smooth carapace varies in colour from olive to brown or grey, contrasting with a lighter, yellowish underside.
