Welcome to the Classroom
Join me, Mr. R for Meet the Teacher Night! Tonight you will all learn about the classroom goals, expectations, and how we communicate to create your child's success. Together we will make a plan to create a positive and engaging learning environment for each student in my class from the first day to the last.
Meet the Teacher Night: Building Partnerships for Student Success
Classroom Expectations
Students will be focused, on time, and ready for work as soon as the bell rings.
Clear guidelines with daily routines help set the tone to form a structured and supportive learning environment.
Importance of Family Involvement
Parents being involved in students lives change their academic life for the best
According to the Annie Casey foundation, "80% of graduates whose parents were “highly involved during high school” pursued or earned an undergraduate degree compared to just 56% of graduates whose parents were “not very involved during high school.”
I as a teacher will do everything that I can to put your child in the best position to succeed. I don't ask a lot from the parents just want open communication and be there to support your young scholar.
Communication Plan
Be prepared for a weekly newsletters and emails with updates of your scholar.
Weekly updates with information on what we will be learning, the current grade in the class, and what your child should improve on. It may not be common but I believe open communication and relationship between parents and teachers is a must in child success. Being informed of what your child is learning and how they are on a weekly basis as important and I plan to have a great relationship.
Volunteer and engagement opportunities
We'll have multiple chances to attend the field trips or class activities
During the school year we will take a total of four class field trips I will provide that information in two weeks. On each field trip at most we will take 4 parents on each field trip. On top of the field trip opportunities we will also have monthly parent student after school dinners. I know this is not common, but it is a good opportunity for all of us to get to know each other in a less serious manner.
Building Relationships with Families
With a good relationship your student will have success and happiness
An outline of key subjects and skills students will focus on throughout the year to keep families informed and engaged. On top of the fun opportunities and interactions we will have school and grades are the main priority. Class will be serious and everything will be done in the best interest of your student. Classes will be prompts and homework will be at a minimum as long as we can be a productive classroom.
Strong partnerships starts with clear communication.
Join myself on meet the teacher night and let's make your student the best they can be!
