Dr. Hadi Numan Al-Hity was a dean of the Mass Communication College at the University of Baghdad. He was born in Iraq in 1942 and passed away in the United States in March 2015. He obtained a master’s and a PhD in children’s journalism and communication from Cairo University. He served in many academic and press positions. Dr. Numan was also the editor-in-chief of several cultural and scientific journals, did social and media research, and supervised several scientific theses. He was editor-in-chief for the Week and the Al-Arab newspaper. He was also editor-in-chief and founder of children’s magazines in Iraq and a labor awareness journal editor-in-chief. He worked as an expert at the National Center for Social and Criminal Research. He was director of the Arab Institute for Labor Culture and Labor Research at the International Labor Organization. Dr. Haitham Hadi Numan is an Iraqi scholar with deep expertise in the areas of public relations, mass communication, and public opinion. He began his education in Iraq, earning a PhD in the Philosophy of Public Relations from the University of Baghdad. He pursued his education overseas, studying for a master's degree at George Washington University and then pursuing doctoral work at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom. Dr. Numan has, throughout the years, lectured on a wide range of media and communication topics at both the University of Baghdad and, much later, Al Ain University in Abu Dhabi. He is currently affiliated with the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies at the University of Exeter, where he teaches and conducts research on media, political communication, and public discourse in the Arab region. He is a published and renowned worker. Among his most notable research works is "Social Media: A Watchdog or a Conspiracy Breeder?" where he examined Iraqi students' responses to COVID-19
