A new charity but the same bookshop!

In May 2026 the charity bookshop at 15 High Street, Oakham, which had started its life raising funds for Vista, was transferred to Deafblind UK.

So the funds we raise still go to help people with sight loss and hearing loss, and in other ways too the shop continues as before ... a bright and friendly place, in the heart of Oakham, run by its team of volunteers.

We've been learning to use a new till (thank you for your patience!) and are looking forward to developments on the shop floor that will help us to put even more books on display for you.

Please come in to see us soon. Our opening hours are Mondays to Saturdays, from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.

Bookmark this website too, so you can revisit it and see how it develops.

Donating books for us to sell

Your donations of any books in good condition are very welcome. (We cannot take magazines.)

Please bring your donations to the shop on Mondays to Saturdays between 10.00 am and 3.00 pm.

Ideally bring them in bags or boxes that will be easy for our volunteers to carry upstairs to our sorting table and stock room. If you have a very large number of books to donate, please phone us first: 01572 720843

If you are able to sign a Gift Aid declaration, we will be very grateful.
