Join the Team: Become a Voluntary First Responder
Equipped to Serve, Trained to Save.
When an emergency strikes in Parkwood, seconds count. The Parkwood Community EMS Initiative (PCEMS) is recruiting passionate, dedicated local residents to join our cohort of voluntary community first responders.
You don't need prior medical experience—just a heart for your community, a commitment to learning, and the discipline to step up when your neighbours need help most.
🚑 What You Will Gain as a PCEMS Volunteer
Certified Clinical Skills: Undergo structured hands-on training covering Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR/AED administration, trauma stabilization, hemorrhage control, and standardized IMIST-AMBO paramedic handovers.
Field-Ready Gear: Be equipped on shift with high-spec clinical responder jump bags, protective safety wear, and communications integration.
Community Leadership: Operate alongside local safety networks, including SAPS Grassy Park, the Parkwood CPF, and local health clinics.
Official Certification: Earn an accredited Certificate of Competency upon completing your training and practical evaluation.
