Dr Paul THERON
Dr. Paul Theron is a seasoned researcher and strategic consultant with over 45 years of experience in delivering impactful projects across Higher Education and global markets.
He has a PhD in Computing Science from the University of Glasgow, a Research Master in Organisations' dynamics from Mines ParisTech, an MSc in Risk Management from the Faculty of Science of Poitiers, and a BA in Strategy & Marketing.
Dr Paul THERON has focused his entire career, both academic and operational, on Resilience, Risk, Quality, and Bid & Project Management.
After an early career in software engineering, he moved on to start one of the first Business Continuity Planning and Crisis Management niche consultancies in Europe. He joined Thales in the 2000s to further develop critical infrastructure resilience, cyber resilience, and risk consulting on a larger scale.
His work involved steering research groups and projects, large international strategic consulting projects, delivering nearly 200 conferences and publishing around 150 scientific and technical papers and reports.
He made a decisive contribution to NATO IST-152 Research Group on Autonomous Intelligent Cyber-defence Agents, and to the EU's 2019 Cybersecurity Act. He was awarded two research prizes for his work.
