Get Support from the Experts
PhD Thriving is based in the UK, but works with students and universities internationally. Part of the Mindtraining for Life group, we offer neuropsychology consulting tailored specifically for PhD students. With extensive expertise in mindtraining, nondual compassion and cognitive function, our consultants, led by Dr Stephen Gene Morris, support students from every kind of background. We regularly work with neurodivergent students and PhD candidates working with mental health conditions.
With direct experience of the unique mental challenges faced by doctoral candidates. We leverage this knowledge to provide mindtraining that supports:
Procrastination, planning and performance.
Anxiety, stress, and problematic thinking.
Confidence, happiness and success.
This approach enables students to overcome academic pressures, thereby improving their happiness, wellbeing, and success.
Integrated Mindtraining Techniques
Mindtraining is a discipline that integrates neuropsychology theory and practice to deliver relevant solutions to many of the challenges faced by PhD candidates. Every student is different, and their particular challenges are somewhat unique. PhD Thriving works with the student to deliver bespoke solutions to specific issues.
We work in person or online, with individuals and groups. We also offer a one-day workshop for PhD cohorts, focusing on the main issues faced by both new and experienced students from all disciplines.
Unique Approach to Transition to Thriving
PhD Thriving’s unique approach is grounded in a holistic philosophy, drawing on knowledge from the psychological sciences, traditional knowledge systems, and the experiences of both the student and the neuropsychologist. Many techniques developed in the psychological sciences are often generalised across large populations. By contrast, mindtraining adapts the best science we have and places it in a pragmatic operational context. We shape support and techniques to fit the student, not vice versa. That goes beyond traditional academic coaching. We help students transition from merely surviving the rigours of PhD life to truly thriving by fostering a mindset of growth and empowerment.
