Punta Gorda Boaters Coalition FOR BOAT CANOPIES!
We live in Punta Gorda and our boats are getting DESTROYED by the Florida sun!
Unlike most areas in SW Florida, Punta Gorda does not allow boat canopies over our lifts and docks to protect our boats. We are working to change the city ordinance to allow boat canopies!
THIS IS IT! THIS IS THE MEETING TO DECIDE IF WE CAN GET BOAT CANOPIES! COME OUT AND SAY YES! We Need You NOW!

Why We NEED Boat Canopies...
Typical Sun Damage
Face it, We live in Florida where the sun is BRUTAL! Without canopies, our boats are exposed to the burning the sun and the elements. Canopies go a long way in protecting our expensive boats and protect US from the ravages of the elements.
Canopies are for US TOO!
Cleaning, maintaining and even loading our boats in the Florida sun can be BRUTAL! Shade from boat canopies would help us immensely working on and cleaning our boats, especially as we get a bit older.
Canvas Covers
Canvas covers are difficult to put on and take off, especially for our older neighbors. Boat canopies over the lift provide protection for the boats (and us) without the labor of wrapping canvas covers on and off every time we use the boat. AND we can WORK on our boats under a boat canopy; not so easy under a canvas cover.
MOLD!
Mold often grows inside boats with just a canvas cover on the boat. Boat canopies allow open air drying and greatly reduces mold issues.
