ABOUT RADIO PHVERN - AM 1610
Radio Phvern is named for a person.
The station is done for the entertainment of the station engineer. It keeps him out of shady honky tonks.
Studio located in the Carl Blare Memorial Wood Shed.
What is Part 15 broadcasting?
Arrr, we’re not pirate. This is a legal broadcast radio station, albeit a flea-powered signal at 100 microwatts.
“Part 15” is defined by the FCC to permit small transmitters to broadcast a signal. These transmitters are commonly used for wireless microphones and similar devices. In this case we use a transmitter called a Talking House, commonly utilized for the real estate industry. The giant signal broadcasts at 100 mW.
Radio Phvern previously used a VEC 1290K, SSTRAN AMT3000, and has a Hurricane AM as a present back-up.
What other equipment is used by Radio Phvern?
Radio Phvern uses several PC computers and professional radio automation software by ZaraRadio and SALAMANDRA. We also use Virtual Audio Cable (VAC) for our internet streaming. Some of the station ID spots use Text To Speech type software. Additionally, there are CD players, mixers and microphones like you would find in an licensed broadcast station.
