Resonate Beatles Music Tech Project Offerings

Sound Science & Introduction to Studio Tech
Inspired by the Beatles song 'Tomorrow Never Knows' -
which combined experimental use of innovative studio techniques with trance-like beats and transcendent lyrics.
Term One introduces students to:
Digital Audio Workstations for recording professional layered music tracks;
Creative editing and manipulation of sounds;
The science of sound; vibrations, and how they can form visual patterns (cymatics);
Using 360-degree video cameras to create experimental films in Virtual Reality

Soundwalks & Place-based Audio-Visual artworks
Inspired by the Beatles song 'Penny Lane' -
which celebrates and mythologizes scenes of everyday life in a suburban street, with a sense of whimsical nostalgia.
In Term Two, students will:
take handheld audio and 360-degree video recorders to record aspects of their everyday lives;
Edit and manipulate their recordings to create experimental story-telling video artworks;
Have their work installed in an online gallery, accessible through QR scanning codes placed in their community environments.

Setting Up and Using Live PA Systems
Inspired by the Beatles song 'Within You Without You' -
which fuses Indian classical music with lyrics that philosophically reflect on inner growth and unity, within a transcendent pop experience
Term Three shows students how to:
set up and manage Live stage PA systems, for Indian musicians to perform at concerts for the students' schools;
Incorporate visual elements - video and projections - into the performances;
Record the performances and edit the recordings in a variety of creative mix and remix formats
