RPPSPNIQ Gathering of psychologists / psychotherapists that work with First Nations and Inuits of Quebec

We are a group of psychologists and psychotherapists devoted to offering respectful and culturally adapted services to the First Nations and Inuit of Quebec. Our mission is to promote well-being while integrating cultural values and the specific needs of communities. Get involved to help build a better future together!

We offer webinars, talking circles, cultural sensitization retreats (some recognized by the Order of Psychologists of Quebec), group supervision and more!

Training and cultural awareness

We provide training opportunities and representation to raise awareness of the reality of the Indigenous communities our members are involved with, while also carrying the voice of our members to relevant decision-makers.

Creating community and breaking isolation

We promote spaces for exchange and for mutual cultural growth and understanding about the realities of aboriginal mental health care practice, while being true to its cultural and scientific dimensions.

Together to promote and honor Indigenous voices!

Judith Morency, President

Dr. Morency has been involved for more than 30 years in clinical and community practice wth First Nations with whom she has developed a variety of treatment programs for trauma and sexual violence, combining contemporary and cultural approaches.

Louise Dessertine, Secretary

Louise Dessertine, psychologist, has more than 40 years of work experience with and in First Nations and Inuit communities across Québec.   

Alex Smith-Peter, Vice-president

Clinical and community psychologist Alexander Smith-Peter has been interested in traditional healing since his doctoral studies in psychology. He has worked with First Peoples for the past five years.

Jeffrey Drugge, administrator

Jeffrey Drugge has 25 years of experience as a psychologist. He was the senior psychologist for Indigenous Services Canada, Quebec Region, from 2009 to 2022.

Magalie Robitaille, Treasurer

Magalie Robitaille is a psychologist working for Mino Obigiwasin Anicinape Child and Family Services.

Michèle St-Denis, administrator

Psychologist, researcher, clinical and yoga teacher. For more than twenty-five years, she was a researcher and professor in psychology at the college and university level, and now follows her commitment with the RPPSPNIQ.

Beatriz Dias Miranda, administrator

Béatriz is a systemic clinical psychologist who has been involved with the RPPSPNIQ as a member for the last two years.

Noamen Bouchrika, administrator

Noamen Bouchrika is both a clinical and social, organizational, and employment psychologist since 2010.
