Sajjad Karbalai: Hobbies & Recreation

I Love sports, especially Soccer/Football. Growing up I spent a lot of time with friends and meeting new people through the beautiful game. I played in house-league before playing in Representative soccer in York Region Soccer League for Richmond Hill Soccer Club, which ended due to the COVID Lock-down. I still enjoy playing the beautiful game more casually and is my favorite way to connect with new people.

Graduation

I Graduated from Secondary school from WaliUlAsr which is a Shia-Based Islamic School in Bolton, Ontario. They are known for their support of students fast-tracking which I was one of them, skipping grade 8 and fast-tracking high school completing it in 3 years with a CGPA of %97.5 and thus became an Ontario scholar.

I Began High school being in a competitive soccer team, focusing on school, and founded the proposal of an Entrepreneurship Club. The club was meant to focus on research & development and prototyping in an entrepreneurial environment. Due to the lack of support from my class-mates and teachers and the following Pandemic/Lock-down the Club remained just a proposal and never became an active club.

When the COVID-Lock-down began, my competitive soccer and all extra-curricular activities came to an end. Being at home all day, every day, made it easier to just focus on school and take more courses to complete my high-school in 3 years.

The Pandemic made it much harder for me to find volunteering activities for me to get the 40 hours of volunteering experience needed for me to graduate. Lucky for me, my mom worked as a Administrator at the same school and their were a lot of work needed to be done for the logistics and supply chain management for the book packages for each student before the start of the academic year. I was able to volunteer to help get this work done and was able to get 40+ volunteering hours.
