Caring for Cats, Changing Lives
We are a New Jersey-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the support that community cats need to thrive in their outdoor environment. Co-founded August 2025 by Evelyn and Virginia. Our team has been providing care for cats in multiple colonies for 2 years. Our team has grown and learned so much. Now we want to help other caretakers and cats, and ensure that the cats in our current colonies have the ongoing support they need and deserve.

Seen and Loved Strays: Caring for community cats in New Jersey
Evelyn and Virginia teamed up in November 2023 to take care of multiple cat colonies, starting with Evelyn’s herculean effort to trap ~ 100 cats for spay/neuter! Some friendly cats were adopted to loving homes, and unfortunately, many were so sick they were humanely euthanized. Virginia stepped in to help with infrastructure support and together, Evelyn and Virginia have been managing multiple (now 11) community cat colonies. We are feeding and providing shelter and medical care for ~ 80 cats daily.
Our scope
After working together and learning from our work and from our animal welfare colleagues since November 2023, we know we have experience and knowledge to share with others. We want to ensure our current roster of cats have ongoing care, but we are also motivated to support other local colony caretakers and their cats and take on the care of additional colonies as our team grows. We are participating in regional and national conversations via social media and will strive to promote best practices for colony caretakers and guide their application to the highly diverse community cat settings.
What do we need?
We have a wonderful, committed, compassionate team! But we are always looking for volunteers to help us fulfill our mission.
We're always looking for volunteers to support our feeding and colony monitoring activities.
Cleaning is an essential part of good cat colony practices. We need help with our weekly cleaning efforts at the colony sites.
In addition, we have a growing team of volunteers who help us to make our own cat food! Homemade cat food is nutritious and a cost-effective way to feed even more cats.
Our logistics team can always use help with transport of cats, food and other donations.
Lastly, we need help from volunteers with woodworking and construction experience to build and maintain shelter structures for our colonies and other colony caretakers we support.
