Individual Therapy

Considered support for the things that don't resolve themselves with more effort.

One-to-one psychological therapy, online across the UK or in person at our Horsham practice. We work with capable, thoughtful adults — the people who tend not to ask for help until things are further along than they should be.

Additional Therapy Services

Addiction

Addiction rarely looks the way films portray it. More often, it's the second drink that became the bottle, the scroll that became the night, the prescription that started solving more than it should. Therapy can help you understand what the behaviour is doing for you — and find another way of doing it.

  • Alcohol, drugs (prescribed or recreational), gambling, screens, food, sex

  • The functional addiction — high-performing, in control on paper

  • Co-occurring anxiety, depression, or trauma

  • Family or relationship impact you've started to notice

  • Patterns you've tried to stop on your own and haven't

  • Wanting to understand it properly before deciding what to do

Addiction work at Eunoia is paced, non-judgemental, and grounded in evidence-based approaches including ACT. Where higher-intensity intervention is needed (medical detox, inpatient care), we'll refer you to the right service and stay engaged if and when ongoing therapy is appropriate.

ADHD Therapy & Skills Coaching

For when "scattered" was the wrong word all along.

Therapy and skills coaching for adults with ADHD — formally diagnosed, waiting for an assessment, or strongly suspecting it. We work on the patterns a diagnosis and medication alone don't resolve: rejection sensitivity, executive-function fatigue, the exhaustion of masking. Weekly fifty-minute sessions with our ADHD specialist, online or in Horsham.

  • Diagnosed, or still seeking a diagnosis elsewhere

  • Long-term coping that's stopped working

  • Difficulty with focus, organisation, emotional regulation, and time

  • Rejection-sensitive dysphoria

  • The exhaustion of masking

  • Co-occurring anxiety, depression, or addictive patterns

We provide ADHD therapy and skills coaching, not diagnostic assessments. If you need a formal ADHD diagnosis, we can point you toward the right route.

Diane Davies MBACP (accred)— Addiction & ADHD Specialist

Diane is Lead Addictions Therapist at the Priory Group, based at Priory Hospital Hayes Grove since January 2022. Before that she spent nine years with a community Drug and Alcohol Recovery Team in Surrey, in partnership with the NHS — over a decade in addiction in total.

Her specialism is alcohol addiction and recovery, with extensive experience across all areas of substance misuse — cocaine, cannabis, opiate and non-opiate. Diane works with clients from the first point of contact, when they're still drinking or using, through detox and into long-term recovery: building awareness of the patterns underneath the behaviour, and the coping tools that hold once the substance is gone. She offers both group psychotherapeutic work and one-to-one counselling.

Alongside her addiction work, Diane delivers ADHD therapy to both inpatients and outpatients at the Priory — supporting adults to understand their ADHD and build the practical tools that medication and a diagnosis alone don't provide.

At Eunoia, Diane leads addiction therapy alongside ADHD therapy and skills coaching.

How We Work

Our Approach: ACT

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based psychological approach built on a single counter-intuitive idea: the work isn't to eliminate difficult thoughts and feelings — it's to change your relationship with them so you can act on what matters, even while they're still there.

In practice, ACT teaches you to:

  • Notice thoughts without being controlled by them

  • Make room for uncomfortable emotions instead of fighting them

  • Clarify what actually matters to you

  • Take meaningful action even when the outcome is uncertain

ACT is recommended by NICE within the third-wave CBT family and is supported by over 1,000 randomised controlled trials.

What we work toward, with you

  • Navigating uncertainty without paralysis

  • Reducing the noise of overthinking and self-criticism

  • Making decisions aligned with what you actually value

  • Responding differently to stress and pressure

  • Reconnecting with what feels meaningful

We work with capable, thoughtful adults who want depth — not surface-level reassurance, and not motivational hype.

Sessions & Structure

Most clients begin with an initial assessment, followed by either a defined block of sessions or an open-ended therapeutic relationship. Your therapist will recommend an approach based on what you're working with.

Sessions are 50 minutes, held weekly where possible — consistency tends to support meaningful change. Initial assessments run 60 minutes to allow proper space for history-taking and formulation.

Therapy here is collaborative and paced to you. There's no pressure to commit long-term, and the work is regularly reviewed so you always know what we're doing and why.

Online vs In-Person Therapy

Both formats are clinically effective. Each suits different lives.

In-person therapy can offer a greater sense of containment for some people, particularly when the therapeutic setting itself contributes to a feeling of safety or focus. The physical transition from everyday life into a therapeutic space provides a useful boundary between the external world and internal exploration.

Online therapy allows for greater flexibility and consistency, especially for those with demanding schedules, frequent travel, or limited access to local services. For many clients, it removes logistical barriers that might otherwise delay or disrupt treatment. Research consistently shows online therapy is no less effective than face-to-face work when delivered by qualified professionals.

You might choose online if you:

  • Have a demanding schedule or travel frequently

  • Prefer the discretion or ease of home-based sessions

  • Live outside Horsham — or simply want sessions from home

  • Value access to a broader range of therapeutic specialists

Frequently Asked Questions

Eunoia Health is a private therapy practice based in Horsham, West Sussex, offering one-to-one therapy online across the UK and in person. We specialise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for adults navigating anxiety, OCD, depression, grief, sleep difficulties, addiction and ADHD. The practice is co-led by Albie Mew-Davies (MBACP, Co-founder & Clinical Lead) and Louise McAuliffe (Co-founder & CEO).

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based psychological approach that helps you develop psychological flexibility — the ability to stay present, handle difficult thoughts and emotions effectively, and take meaningful action guided by your values.

Rather than trying to eliminate discomfort, ACT helps you change your relationship with it. The focus is not just insight, but practical change — making clearer decisions, responding more thoughtfully under pressure, and building a more sustainable way of living and working.
ACT is recommended by NICE within the third-wave CBT family and supported by an extensive body of randomised controlled trials. It is most commonly used for anxiety, OCD, depression, chronic pain, and high-functioning patterns that don't resolve with effort alone.

Start with a fifteen-minute call — most people who book one don't yet know whether they want ongoing therapy, the Mental Health MOT, or something more specific like sleep work. The call is a chance to describe what's going on, hear a recommendation, and decide. No pressure to book anything after.

Book a fifteen-minute call directly through our website using the Book a Call button. If you need help, email info@eunoiahealth.uk and we'll respond within two working days.

We work with one therapist per client where possible — continuity tends to support real change. If the fit isn't right, you can change therapists.

Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled with 48 hours' notice — sessions cancelled within this window are credited to your account. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice, or missed sessions, are charged in full. Short-notice cancellations are rarely possible to refill.

Therapists can be contacted between sessions for practical matters only — for example, changing session format. Therapeutic support between sessions isn't generally provided.
If you need urgent support, call the Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24/7), NHS 111 (option 2 for mental health), or 999 in an emergency.

Yes. Information shared in sessions is kept private, with three legally-defined exceptions: a clear risk of serious harm to yourself or others, disclosures of specific crimes such as terrorism or child protection, and court orders. These will always be discussed with you first where possible. Your therapist will explain confidentiality fully at the start of your initial assessment.

Sessions are available online via secure video, or in person at our practice in Horsham, West Sussex. Online sessions are available across the UK and to British clients abroad.

If you have concerns about your therapy, please email support@eunoiahealth.uk and we'll respond promptly. You can also reach us by phone on 0330 122 9596.
