Source of Human Problems
The source of human problems is our emotional system. The emotions we have are shared with other life forms on Earth. As hunter-gatherers, we were no different than other hunter animals. So we were equipped with rivalry-oriented emotions and behaviors. As long as we were cave-dwelling creatures, we needed those emotions. However, as we began to develop a social life, our old emotional systems started to become the source of many problems. We invented social life some 10,000 years ago. But our emotional system needs millions of years to develop into a new system that is more suitable for our social life.
As you may guess, we cannot wait millions of years for our emotions to adapt to our new way of living. We, ourselves, need to do something to accelerate the evolution of our emotional system. With the advent of modern science and technology, we are hopeful that we can do this soon.
Emotions like anger, hatred, jealousy, lack of tolerance toward others, rivalry-oriented mentalities in us and our leaders, behaviors like gladiators in our leaders are all remnants and fossils remaining from the time when we were cavemen. We do not need these burdens in our social life any longer.
The source of all wars and tensions in politics is the emotional systems we have that no longer serve us; the same way the truck in the image no longer serves our needs to transport goods.
