1. Warranty Coverage

ModernFold by Generations (“ModernFold”) warrants that its aluminum folding glass door systems are free from defects in materials and manufacturing under normal use and service, subject to the terms and conditions below.

Coverage Period

  • Aluminum Frames: 10 Years

  • Hardware Components (rollers, hinges, handles, locking mechanisms): 5 Years

  • Insulated Glass Units: 5 Years (against seal failure only)

Warranty periods begin on the date of delivery to the original purchaser.

2. What This Warranty Covers

This limited warranty covers:

  • Manufacturing defects in aluminum frame construction

  • Structural failure due to defective materials

  • Hardware malfunction caused by manufacturing defects

  • Insulated glass seal failure (fogging between panes)

At its discretion, ModernFold will:

  • Replace the defective component, or

  • Provide a prorated credit toward replacement

3. What This Warranty Does NOT Cover

This warranty does not cover damage, defects, or failures resulting from:

Installation & Labor (Excluded)

  • Improper installation

  • Installation not performed according to manufacturer guidelines

  • Installation by unlicensed or unqualified installers

  • Structural movement, settling, or framing issues

  • Improper flashing, waterproofing, leveling, or anchoring

ModernFold is not responsible for installation workmanship or labor costs under any circumstances.

Other Exclusions

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Scratches, dents, or cosmetic damage after delivery

  • Glass breakage after installation

  • Water intrusion caused by installation or surrounding construction

  • Damage from misuse, abuse, neglect, or alteration

  • Damage from acts of God (including but not limited to hurricanes, floods, fire, earthquakes, or extreme weather events)

  • Improper maintenance or failure to follow care instructions

  • Corrosion caused by coastal, industrial, or chemically aggressive environments unless specifically rated for such use

4. Installation Disclaimer

ModernFold products must be installed by qualified professionals experienced in folding door systems.

ModernFold:

  • Does not install doors

  • Does not supervise installation

  • Does not guarantee installer workmanship

Any installer, contractor, or third party is independent and not an agent of ModernFold.

5. Warranty Claims Process

To submit a warranty claim, the original purchaser must provide:

  1. Proof of purchase

  2. Photos and/or videos clearly showing the defect

  3. A written description of the issue

  4. Installer information (if applicable)

6. Limitation of Liability

ModernFold’s liability under this warranty is strictly limited to the product itself.

ModernFold shall not be liable for:

  • Installation costs

  • Removal or reinstallation costs

  • Property damage

  • Loss of use

  • Incidental or consequential damages

Some states do not allow limitations on incidental or consequential damages; this limitation may not apply to you.

7. Transferability

This warranty is:

  • Non-transferable

  • Valid only for the original purchaser

  • Void if the product is resold, transferred, or relocated

8. Governing Law

This warranty shall be governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

9. Entire Agreement

This warranty constitutes the entire warranty for ModernFold products.
No oral statements, installer promises, or third-party representations modify this warranty.
