Building Inclusive Gendered Pathways in Jazz Education from Early to Higher Education

July 27th, 10.50am (90 mins)
Room 511C

Panel presentation and discussion with Natalie Boeyink, Natalie Morgenstern, and Pauline Black.

This presentation and discussion session will explore where gendered barriers appear, how they are experienced, and how the jazz educational landscape can be transformed by fostering and normalising the development of jazz identities through guided practice and reflexivity.

Angine de Poitrine

The Jazz Festival!!!! Woohoo!!! Angine de Poitrine was, of course, a big headline attracting a massive crowd. Soooo much fun. This is Montreal, my hometown. And though I have not lived here in over 35 years, there is something about this city, this province, and its culture—here represented by polka-dotted alien musicians producing disruptive, freaky, outlandish music—that makes me feel at home in my own skin.
