What types of writing activities are included in the program?
Participants will explore a variety of writing styles, including journaling, storytelling, memoir writing, poetry, personal reflection, and guided creative writing prompts. Every session offers something new, and there is no "right" way to write.
Will I have to read my writing out loud?
No. Sharing is always optional. Participants are encouraged to share if they feel comfortable, but there is never any pressure. Listening and supporting others is just as valuable.
What if I have difficulty writing because of my Parkinson's?
You are absolutely welcome at Pages in Motion. The program is about sharing your thoughts and experiences—not your handwriting. Participants who have difficulty writing due to tremor, rigidity, or other Parkinson's symptoms may choose to work with a Volunteer who will transcribe; they can handwrite, type, or record and transcribe their words.
Our goal is to ensure every participant has the opportunity to tell their story in the way that works best for them.
