Not at all! Pages in Motion is designed for everyone, whether you've been writing for years or have never picked up a journal. The focus is on self-expression, creativity, and connection—not grammar or perfect writing.

No! Like all National Parkinsons Institute Programs- Pages in Motion is Free of Cost to all Parkinson's participants and their caregivers.

The Pages in Motion 2026-27 program is generously funder by Parkinsons Foundation Community Grant.

The program is open to anyone living with Parkinson's disease & their caregiver, regardless of writing experience. Whether you're a seasoned writer or new to writing, Pages In Motion welcomes you.

Participants will explore a variety of writing styles, including journaling, storytelling, memoir writing, poetry, personal reflection, and guided creative writing prompts. Every session offers something new, and there is no "right" way to write.

No. Sharing is always optional. Participants are encouraged to share if they feel comfortable, but there is never any pressure. Listening and supporting others is just as valuable.

You are absolutely welcome at Pages in Motion. The program is about sharing your thoughts and experiences—not your handwriting. Participants who have difficulty writing due to tremor, rigidity, or other Parkinson's symptoms may choose to work with a Volunteer who will transcribe; they can handwrite, type, or record and transcribe their words.

Our goal is to ensure every participant has the opportunity to tell their story in the way that works best for them.
