About RCC
The Responsible Computing Club (RCC) at San José State University is a student-led organization dedicated to advancing the responsible and ethical use of technology. With a focus on critical issues such as privacy, accessibility, sustainability, and equity, the club hosts events, workshops, and discussions designed to foster thoughtful engagement with the social and environmental impacts of computing. Supported and sponsored by Mozilla, RCC benefits from a direct connection to Mozilla’s mission of promoting an open, accessible, and equitable internet, with its officers and ambassadors serving as official Mozilla Brand Ambassadors who extend these values throughout the campus community.
Rules of the Contest
Pitch Competition teams are expected to produce one of the following:
TikTok-style video
Photo series
Micro-campaign concept
Submissions should highlight Mozilla/Firefox values and inspire peers to try Firefox.
Recommended length for videos: 15–60 seconds.
Teams (at least 2 people) will have 50-60 minutes to ideate then will use the remaining time to create their product including filming, photo taking and editing. Finally the submissions will be reviewed by the judges and a winner will be selected based on the judging criteria listed below. Immediately following the judging block the winning teams will be announced.

Creativity & Originality
Is the idea fresh, engaging, and tailored to resonate with Gen Z?
Does it show innovative use of short-form content formats (TikTok, photo series, micro-campaign)?
Alignment with Mozilla & Firefox Values
Does the campaign authentically reflect Mozilla’s values (openness, agency, privacy, responsible tech)?
Is the messaging consistent with Firefox’s brand guidelines?
Impact & Reach Potential
Does the content have the potential to spark peer-to-peer conversations and drive students to try Firefox?
Could it perform well if shared on Mozilla’s official social media channels?
Presentation & Delivery
Was the live pitch clear, confident, and compelling?
Did the team effectively explain their creative choices and demonstrate the campaign’s value?

Official Channel Feature
The winning team will have a chance to have their product seen by Firefox's social media lead and considered to be posted on Mozilla's socials.

How do people enter?
Since this is an in-person event students can register beforehand via the link posted on the RCC social media pages. Once registered you can check in on site and submit your work during the judging time.
Can teams participate?
Yes - this is a team based competition.
Who is eligible to participate?
University students, especially Marketing/Business majors, though cross-disciplinary participation is encouraged.
