The assassination of the Emperor led to a succession crisis that saw five men claim the title of Emperor. The long lasting strife and the fear of the Empire falling to outsider forces, led to an agreement between the five parties and the establishment of the Pentarchia - a mutual defense agreement against northern belligerents and the development of the civil war into a political game. The current land is divided into 9 greater regions - The Imperial lands ruled by the successor of the old Emperor, two Principates ruled by other branches, one Praetoria ruled by the eastern army appointed dictator, the Mercatia ruled by the Guild, the Ordo ruled by the Military Church, the Holy Lands ruled by the Clergy, the Magnus Ducato, and the Islhas. Svezana Velíkovojevodstvo Langrika - Langrika is a constituent state of the Confederation, it hold the rank of Granduchy. It sits along the Long River in the Wald region and is the only Nation-State to be fully enclosed by it. It is the easternmost Confederated State and serves as the door to the Wald. It's main exports are wood and mercenaries. Conferation trade that wants to navigate the long river in order to go west has to pass by it - As the citizens of Langrika share linguistic and cultural aspects with the peoples of the Wald, they also manage the relations between the Conferation and Wald clans as well as offering protection for traders navigating west. The Deep Forest Guild (Hlubodrevna Druzhina) is the official representative of Langrika in the Wald, helping explorers and adventures travel deep into the Wald. Their heraldry consists of three pairs of eyes, two looking east and west with dilated pupils showing interest and one centered and looking at the observer with slit pupils showing readiness before agression, "watching and ready".
