Services and Specialties

Our foundation is trusted. Our approach is comprehensive. We offer full-scope family medicine, thoughtfully unrushed.

Our practice is intentionally small. We don't believe excellent care can be measured by how many patients a physician can see in a day.

That's the experience we've built—whether you see us virtually from your home or in our Massachusetts office (coming soon).

Longer appointments. Direct physician care. Fewer barriers. More time to think.

Family Medicine: The doctor who gets to know you.

We offer comprehensive care with the time to actually get to know you. We believe in sitting down, listening carefully, thinking through the details, and giving you the opportunity to ask the questions you need to ask.

From everyday illnesses and preventive care to chronic conditions and the complicated questions that don't fit neatly into a 15-minute appointment, we provide thoughtful, whole-person health for all ages from birth onward.

We provide the best of conventional care with the strongest integrative strategies to maintain your baseline health, prevent future illness, and elevate your well being. Open-minded. Evidence-based. Always grounded in science.

Whether through telemedicine or in-person visits, elect to center your care with us for all stages of life, including: preventive health screenings, pediatric care, women's health (PAPs, hormonal balance), men's health, chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders), and acute sick visits.

We also offer a suite of services to further upgrade your health and appearance

Medicine Without the Rush.

Personalized family medicine with the time, attention, and access you deserve.

Our telemedicine practice brings thoughtful, unrushed care directly to you. Appointments are intentionally longer, allowing time to listen, ask questions, consider the whole picture, and develop a plan together. We combine conventional, evidence-based medicine with an openness to complementary approaches that have a meaningful place in modern healthcare.

Because exceptional medicine is about getting the right answers by having time to ask the right questions.

Whether you need ongoing primary care, help navigating a new concern, or a thoughtful second opinion, you'll have the time and attention of a physician who truly gets to know you—not a revolving door of providers.

Good health starts with what you do every day.

We support whole-food, plant-based and vegan lifestyles, including thoughtful nutritional guidance for patients navigating pregnancy* and parenthood. Our goal isn't to tell you what you should eat—it’s to help you build a sustainable approach to nutrition that supports your health and fits your life.

*Please Note: we do not manage pregnancies. Instead, we support those who choose plant-based lifestyles during pregnancy.

Excellent skin care begins with understanding your skin.

Melanin-rich skin has unique characteristics that influence everything from pigmentation and inflammation to healing and scarring. Skin conditions can look remarkably differently in melanin-rich skin, and are often misdiagnosed when a clinician isn't familiar with those differences. We bring specialized expertise in these differences to help ensure an accurate diagnosis and an appropriately tailored treatment plan from the beginning.

Providing exceptional care means understanding those differences—and incorporating them into every treatment decision.

At SoliMar Med, we evaluate and treat a range of concerns affecting skin of color, including acne, hyperpigmentation, melasma, keloids, razor bumps, hair loss, pigmentary disorders, and more.

Our approach is thoughtful and individualized, with particular attention to preventing unwanted pigmentation and scarring while improving the health and appearance of your skin. Treatment recommendations are grounded in current evidence and tailored to your skin, your concerns, and your goals.

Expertise that recognizes your skin's differences—and treats them with care.

There is more to health than what can be measured.

Life circumstances, stress, relationships, habits, and major transitions can have a profound effect on how we feel and function. As part of primary care, we make room for those conversations.

We offer physician-led counseling and supportive conversations when they are appropriate to your care—whether you're working through a difficult transition, trying to make a meaningful lifestyle change, or simply need someone to help you think through what's going on.

This isn't intended to replace specialized mental-health care when that is needed. Rather, it's part of what we believe good primary care should be: a place where you can talk openly with a physician who knows you and has the time to listen.

Sometimes the right medicine is a prescription. Sometimes it's a conversation.

Thoughtful Medical Care Beyond the Traditional Model

Choosing a home birth is a profound and personal decision. At SoliMar Med, we honor that choice.

While we do not provide prenatal or maternity care or perform deliveries, we understand that families don't all choose the same path to parenthood—or the same model of care.

Led by an M.D. who has personally experienced a successful home birth, our practice has experience collaborating with home-birth midwives and supporting families when medical needs arise alongside their chosen birth plan.

We understand the importance of respecting birth autonomy while maintaining thoughtful medical oversight. When appropriate, we can help coordinate care and provide medical services for needs such as newborn testing, hearing screening, or other family and newborn health concerns.

Respect for your autonomy. Collaboration with your care team. Medicine grounded in science.

You won’t have to explain your “why” here.

Homeschooling is more than an educational choice—it’s a way of life. We understand the intentionality behind creating a home-centered education and the unique social, emotional, and physical dynamics that can come with it.

At SoliMar Med, we care for homeschooling families with an appreciation for the way you’ve chosen to structure your family’s life. We take the time to understand your child as an individual, your family’s priorities, and the values that shape your approach to health and development.

We believe wellness is about more than simply being free from illness. It’s about creating the foundation that allows children to learn, grow, explore, and thrive—and supporting parents as they navigate that journey.

Our approach is individualized, whole-person, and grounded in evidence-based medicine, with respect for the fact that there is more than one thoughtful way to raise healthy children.

Your family has its own rhythm. Your healthcare should, too.

Subtle, thoughtful enhancements.

Our aesthetic services are designed with the same philosophy as our medical care: individualized, conservative, and focused on helping you look refreshed rather than “done.” Services may include neuromodulators such as Botox®, lip enhancement with dermal fillers, and other aesthetic treatments.

Aesthetic Expertise for Melanin-Rich Skin: Because Beautiful Results Require Understanding the Skin You're Working With.

For melanin-rich skin, aesthetic treatments require particular attention to pigmentation, inflammation, healing, and scarring. Our approach is tailored accordingly, with an emphasis on safety, subtlety, and natural-looking results.

Thoughtful wellness, personalized to you.

We offer select vitamin and nutrient IV therapies as part of a broader approach to wellness. Treatments are considered individually and are intended to complement—not replace—appropriate medical evaluation and evidence-based care.

The Kind of Medicine We Practice Matters

Your appointment is a partnership, not a transaction.

SoliMar Med is intentionally different from high-volume, transactional healthcare. We believe that exceptional medicine requires something increasingly rare: time to listen, time to think, and the freedom to practice medicine thoughtfully.

When you come to us, you can expect us to take your concerns seriously, listen carefully to what you want and why you want it, and explain our recommendations clearly. You can also expect us to tell you honestly when we don't believe a particular medication, test, referral, or treatment is medically appropriate.

Paying for an appointment means paying for our time, expertise, and clinical judgment—not for a predetermined prescription or outcome.

Sometimes the right answer is a medication. Sometimes it is a different treatment, further evaluation, watchful waiting, or simply reassurance. Our responsibility is to determine what makes sense for you, based on your history, symptoms, examination when appropriate, and the best available medical evidence.

We are open to lifestyle, nutritional, and complementary approaches when they have a meaningful and appropriate place in your care. At the same time, our practice remains firmly grounded in science. We don't recommend a treatment simply because it is popular, marketed as “natural,” or requested by a patient.

Medications and Care Outside Our Scope

To preserve the type of practice we have intentionally built, we do not initiate or provide ongoing management of:

  • Opioids and other controlled pain medications

  • Benzodiazepines and other sedative medications, including for chronic anxiety or insomnia

  • Prescription stimulants, including Adderall, Ritalin, and similar medications

  • Medical cannabis certifications or marijuana prescriptions

  • Medication-assisted treatment or specialized addiction medicine

  • Chronic pain management requiring controlled substances

  • Long-term management of complex psychiatric medication regimens outside the scope of primary care

The fact that something falls outside our scope does not mean that it is never appropriate. These medications and treatments have legitimate medical uses and are best managed within the appropriate clinical setting. When specialized care is needed, we will help guide you toward the right clinician or service.

Antibiotics Aren't Automatic

Antibiotics are valuable medications when they are indicated—and unnecessary when they are not.

We don't prescribe an antibiotic simply because an illness feels severe, because one was prescribed in the past, or because a patient has come to expect one. We prescribe antibiotics when our clinical assessment indicates that they are likely to provide meaningful benefit.

If an antibiotic isn't appropriate, we'll explain why, discuss what to expect, and help you determine what is appropriate.

The same philosophy applies to other medications, testing, imaging, and treatments: we don't order or prescribe simply because something can be done. We do it because we believe it should be done.

A Few Other Important Boundaries

SoliMar Med is a primary care practice—not an urgent-care, pain-management, addiction-medicine, or specialty psychiatric practice.

We do not:

  • Order routine laboratory testing or imaging simply because it is requested when there is no medical indication

  • Provide unproven “detox” or wellness treatments simply because they are marketed as such

  • Provide prenatal or maternity care or perform deliveries

  • Manage medical emergencies through telemedicine

  • Replace appropriate specialty care when a condition requires a level of expertise or treatment beyond primary care

When something falls outside the scope of our practice, we'll tell you—and help you determine what comes next.
