Help Me Settle a Bet
Is coaching something people would actually choose for themselves — or is it still a corporate game?
Here's what happened
A friend and I got into a debate. One of us thinks coaching only works when a company is paying for it. The other thinks there's more to it. Neither of us was backing down, so we decided to settle it properly. With an experiment.

The experiment
I'm opening 10 real coaching sessions - 45 minutes each - to anyone who wants to try. Not as someone whose company sent them to a coach, but as a person who would actually choose coaching for themselves. A thinking partner for your career, leadership, parenting, health-related topics. Think of it as 45 minutes of someone helping you see what you're not seeing.
No fluff, no sales pitches, no hidden agendas. I'll share the full results publicly in a few weeks.
Pick your side
Paid session (€9.99)
You think coaching could be useful and you're willing to put money where your mouth is - even if it's the price of two coffees.
I'll pay after, if it was worth it
You're open to coaching but want to experience it before deciding. After the session, you pay what you think it was worth. No minimum, no pressure.
Free session
You think coaching could be useful, but you're not ready to pay. Fair enough - that's exactly what this experiment is about.
Coaching is useless
You think this whole thing is overrated? I want to hear why. Tell me on LinkedIn.
Experiment status
Where things stand (updated mid-March 2026)
The experiment is live. So far, all bookings came from people already in the coaching world. That's interesting, but it doesn't settle the bet. I need people who have never been near a coaching session, people who have no idea what coaching is, people who think it might be nonsense. Especially those. If that's you, this experiment is specifically waiting for you.
What actually happens in a session
You bring something real - a decision you're wrestling with, a challenge at work, a goal you're stuck on. We have a focused, honest conversation about it. No advice-giving, no therapy, no "and how does that make you feel?" I ask the kind of questions that help you think more clearly about what matters to you.
Before the session, you'll get a short questionnaire (3 minutes) so we can use the time well. After the session, I'll ask for your honest feedback. That's it.

My name is Davor Čengija. I'm a PCC-certified coach with 15 years of experience, mostly working with leaders and teams in growing companies. This experiment is my way of testing whether coaching belongs outside the boardroom too.
This experiment started with a LinkedIn post. Follow along - I'll be sharing the results there.
