You Are More Than What Happened to You.You are capable. You are resilient. You’ve survived things that changed you.And somewhere along the way, you stopped trusting yourself. You question your decisions. You second-guess your instincts. You may know what you want, but struggle to move toward it.You know there’s more to you than the person you had to become to survive. You survived. Now you get to live. The ways you learned to cope made sense at the time.Staying guarded. Staying in control. Keeping people at a distance. Numbing what hurt. Putting everyone else’s needs before your own. Those strategies may have helped you survive. They don’t have to determine how you live.Therapy can help you understand what shaped you, develop the skills to navigate what you’re feeling, and learn to trust yourself again. This isn’t about becoming someone else’s version of “normal.”It’s about discovering who you are when survival isn’t making all the decisions.A different kind of therapy. Our approach is experiential and individualized. Alongside psychotherapy, our work may incorporate mindfulness, sand tray therapy, equine-facilitated experiences, and practical skill-building.We don’t just talk about change. We practice it.The goal isn’t simply to feel better. It’s to trust your judgment. Set boundaries without losing yourself. Handle difficult emotions without being controlled by them. Make mistakes and keep going. Build relationships that feel genuine. Pursue the life you actually want. You don’t have to erase your past. You get to decide what happens next.Ready to stop surviving and start building a life that feels like yours?Let’s talk. A consultation is an opportunity for us to explore what you’re looking for and see whether my approach is the right fit for you.Schedule a consultation.

Understand. Experience. Transform.

Two counselors who truly go above and beyond....what a rarity....they don't give up!

We LOVE Triflections!! Kimberly is blunt and to the point. She sees me when I can't see myself; how the heck does she do that?! The progress I have made in such a short time is nothing short of amazing!

Jennifer Chwalisz-Mobley, LCDC, LPC Associate under the supervision of Kimberly Thomas LPC-S, MS, specializes in substance abuse/addiction, trauma, and co-occurring issues.Maybe you are feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or simply tired of trying to make life feel manageable. Maybe you’ve experienced things you never should have had to experience, and you’re wondering whether your past has changed you forever. Maybe you’re coping in ways that once helped you survive but are now getting in the way of the life you want. I believe it doesn’t have to define you. You are more than what happened to you. With more than a decade of experience in mental health and addictions counseling, including co-occurring trauma and substance abuse, I’ve seen what happens when the past dictates the present—and I’ve seen people recover, grow, and build lives they never imagined possible. I genuinely believe people can recover. I don’t judge. Every story deserves respect and care.My approach is experiential, individualized, and collaborative. Through psychotherapy, mindfulness, equine-assisted work, and sand tray therapy, I meet you where you are and use what works for you. My goal isn’t to keep you in therapy forever, but to help you build the skills and self-trust to eventually say, “I can handle this.”

Perhaps one the best vantage points in Richmond Park, London. This bench is perfectly placed beneath a lonely tree, giving a clear view of the open fields and woodlands in every direction. In the early morning mist there’s a certain melancholy about the place - you could sit and ponder life here, without a care in the world.
