Pull Up A Chair, Sis

The Bible is open.

The coffee is hot.

And nobody here expects you to have all the answers.

Because if we're being honest, most of us are still trying to figure out what God is doing in at least one area of our lives.

Whether you've been studying Scripture for years or you're still using the table of contents as your personal tour guide, you're welcome here.

We'll ask questions.

We'll challenge assumptions.

We'll dig into God's Word.

And every now and then, we'll lovingly drag a few excuses into the light and make them tell the truth.

Around here, we don't just want information.

We want transformation.

Because collecting Bible facts without applying them is like buying a gym membership and expecting the pounds to leave by faith alone.

Nice thought.

Not how it works.

So grab your Bible, bring your questions, and bring that thing you've been wrestling with God about.

No judgment.

Just truth, growth, grace, and the occasional holy side-eye.

Now come on, Sis.

Let's see what the Word has to say.

Your 3 minute Word from the Lord

Let It Go, Mama — God Is Not Nervous

Let It Go, Mama — God Is Not Nervous

Alright, Sis… let’s talk.

Matthew 6:25–34 — Jesus tells us not to worry about our lives.
Not what we’ll eat.
Not what we’ll wear.
Not about tomorrow.

And if we’re honest?

Tomorrow is where most of our anxiety lives.

We are out here fighting battles that haven’t even introduced themselves yet.

We rehearse worst-case scenarios like it’s a spiritual discipline.
We prepare speeches for arguments that haven’t happened.
We brace for impact… and nothing even hit.

That’s exhausting.

Now listen — Jesus was not dismissing responsibility.
He was dismantling anxiety.

There’s a difference.

Responsibility says, “I will do my part.”
Anxiety says, “I must control the outcome.”

And control feels powerful… until it drains you.

Some of us aren’t tired because life is heavy.
We’re tired because we won’t put it down.

Overthinking is just control dressed up in concern.

And it sounds spiritual sometimes:

“I’m just being wise.”
“I’m just planning ahead.”
“I’m just preparing.”

But underneath that?

It’s fear.

And fear whispers,
“If I don’t hold this together, everything will fall apart.”

But here’s the truth:

God has never needed your anxiety to accomplish His will.

He feeds birds that don’t farm.
He clothes flowers that don’t sew.
And He sustains you — not because you panic well — but because He is faithful.

So let me say it clearly:

You do not have to solve tomorrow tonight.

You do not have to micromanage what God has already mastered.

You do not have to rehearse disaster to feel prepared.

If God is already in tomorrow, you don’t need to live there today.

And here’s the line I want you to take with you:

Let it go, Mama — God is not nervous.

He’s not nervous about your bills.
He’s not nervous about your children.
He’s not nervous about that decision you keep replaying.

He is not pacing Heaven.

So why are you pacing your house?

Release the grip.

Close the mental courtroom.

Stop arguing with outcomes that haven’t even testified yet.

Peace isn’t passive.

Peace is trust in motion.

And when you choose peace, you are not being careless — you are being confident in a God who has never lost control.

Let it go.

And sleep tonight.

Sista' Don't Quit!

May we never tire of doing what is good and right before our Lord because in His season we shall bring in a great harvest if we can just persist. Galatians 6:9

A few days ago, I got a call from someone I’m beyond blessed to call my friend. He was calling to thank me for the congratulatory card I sent, but as usual, our conversation went way beyond small talk. He’s hilarious, crazy-smart (if I’m ever on a game show, best believe he’s my “phone-a-friend”), and just 'good people' through and through. We always have great conversations, but true to form, by the end of this one, he had me so encouraged I felt like I could walk on water. (Don’t clutch your pearls, sis, it’s just an expression.) He has that rare gift of making you feel lighter, braver, and a little more fabulous than when the conversation started. And if I had to guess, I’d say he does that for everyone he meets.

I keep replaying this conversation in my head, and the one question he asked, “Do you love it enough to stay committed to it?” Without even blinking, I said, “Yes.” But later, I had to stop and ask myself, girl, how did you know that so quick? What’s driving my yes? Is it that God-given, ride-or-die kind of calling that won’t let you quit—no matter how broke the budget is, how silent your amen corner gets, how little time you have, or how many doors life tries to slam in your face? The kind that shrugs at inconvenience, side-eyes obstacles, and says, “Oh, I’m still here… and I’m not going anywhere.”

And then—it hit me like a heavenly mic drop! When I’m in my passion, I’m not just “in my happy place,” I’m walking in my God-given lane with the top down and the wind of the Spirit blowing through my faux locks! No confusion, no “maybe I’m called,” just a whole yes, ma’am, this is it. This is what I was created for! The breath inside my breath, the kiss of God stamped all over my life. That’s why I’m all in—because it’s not a chore, it’s my holy playground. And while other folks are clocking in to survive, I’m over here clocking in to thrive, flipping the enemy a wave as I pass by. God didn’t just hand me this gift—He wired it into the very fabric of my DNA, and I’m not about to dim what He designed to shine!

So sista’, find that thing that lights you up like revival night under a Holy Ghost tent! Don’t you dare quit. Don’t you dare give up. And please—don’t you waste one eyelash batting at your haters—slay right past ‘em. Chase that thing that snatches your sleep, hijacks your peace (in the best way), and burns so hot in your spirit that even the devil himself will start taking detours around your street. Because when God calls you, your yes ain’t optional—it’s a Heaven-issued, Hell-proof, can’t-be-revoked assignment… and girl, you were born to carry it like the crown it is.
