The cheapest and most cost effective solution listed on this page.

Sennheiser Profile USB microphone, a more costly but professional USB microphone with a far better sound capsule and range of features. Made by a world leading company long associated with the audio industry.

UGreen USB Model 65629 USB microphone with live low latency monitoring, a pop shield, noise reduction, very sturdy desk stand and a range of features which more than matches the Sennheiser, but at a third of the price.

USB Headphones for recording

These cost effective headphone sets incorporate a microphone that is suitable for using with Voxiferi remote recording sessions and simply plug into a standard USB A slot as an alternative to buying a dedicated microphone.

The most cost effective microphone headsets (under £15) we can recommend (sound quality for recording will not be as good as either of the headsets listed above) are:

Headphones for monitoring

You will need a pair of headphones for the recording, any with a 3.5mm jack will suffice if using the microphones above (all of which allow you plug directly in to monitor - listen - to the recording). If you do not have a pair suitable we recommend the following three in price order from low to high, all of them cost-effective. Do not confuse these with USB headphones with a built in microphone for recording. These are purely to listen / monitor output with a USB microphone with 3.5mm audio out capability to offer low latency or zero latency monitoring.
